Wheelstreet, India’s leading Bike Rental platform launches operations in Hyderabad with a large fleet of two wheelers at affordable rental pricing. The launch follows a study conducted among Millennials and office goers in Hyderabad, who reinforced the need for more convenient rental options in the city.

The study suggests that businesses today cater to two key trends – Sharing Economy and Building Communities. Realistic price points, convenient accessibility and availability of two wheelers would encourage people to share instead of buying bikes according to the data collated by the company. Most respondents also reiterated the need for more bikes as a convenient mode of transport in a fast growing city like Hyderabad. Affordability was another factor that came out in favour of bikes.

Moksha Srivastava, Co-Founder and CMO, Wheelstreet said

Wheelstreet aims at re-solving problems related to intercity and intra-city travel, with affordable pricing and easy access to the bikes along with convenient pick up and drop facilities. Supported by a strong technology backbone we aim to redefine local commute, specifically in the two-wheeler sector. I also see the emergence of Sharing Economy as a radical shift in the mind-set of future generations which reinforces our business model and its growth potential.

Now Hyderabad’s bike lovers can rent a bike at prices as low as Rs.13/hour on Wheelstreet. The company has launched over 200 brand new bikes which include two wheelers such as Scooty Pep, Honda Activa, Royal Enfield, Bajaj Pulser, TVS Apache, etc. Pick up and drop facility are available at prime locations including Hi Tech City, Gachibowli(2), Panja Gutta, A S Rao Nagar, Banjara Hills, S R Nagar and Madhavpur(2). These locations were strategically chosen to cover important areas in Hyderabad. In addition to the above-mentioned location, there are 10 more centres which will be added to the website shortly.

One can access the bike options, the pricing and availability on WheelStreet or on the WheelStreet app available on Play Store.

Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises [NICE] Toll Plaza has tied up with ToneTag, a proximity communications firm for frictionless e-payment by just unlocking the phone. NICE Toll is in the peripheral ring road in Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway where commuters are tolled at seven locations for two-wheelers as well as four wheelers.

This tie-up will be aimed at reducing the time spent by commuters at toll booths. After providing technology to several digital wallets and tied up with bank apps, ToneTag has now got in deal with private infrastructure company for smooth Toll exit and entry. Under the tie-up, commuters can now do the payment from their phones through  wallets, payments bank and UPI-based apps.

At present, customers has to wait in long queue to pay the toll tax either through cash, debit/credit cards or mobile wallets [in some cases] and gets the receipt after which the toll gates open. This lengthy process of payment will be replaced by this exclusive partnership. The unique technology  works on sound frequency and allows the customer to make toll payments by just unlocking their phone.

Kumar Abhishek, Founder of ToneTag said

Nice Toll is very significant toll in Bangalore as it’s the gateway to seven locations. The toll witness heavy traffic through the year. Often I see worried people looking for an alternate payment solution to eliminate the long queue. To cater this issue, ToneTag brought in an exclusive technology that enables the rider to make toll payments by just unlocking their phone.

With ToneTag seamless payment process, the transaction is completed in less than 2 seconds and payments at the backend are processed on real time.

When a customer with a ToneTag app drives towards a Toll Plaza which is integrated with ToneTag, the customer will receive a payment request notification. Upon confirming this request with one-click, the payment will be processed and the customer will be able to drive through the gate.

To induce ToneTag technology in the existing payment infrastructure, only software upgrade is required without any hardware investments on the customer or toll operator end.

ToneTag technology communicates with the merchant’s PoS system through encrypted sound waves. ToneTag technology uses sound waves to enable offline, proximity-based contactless, cashless and cardless payments from one mobile phone to another or any other computing device. This technology benchmarks the security standards with features like patented noise filters, blockchain technology, three levels of encryption, tokenization, white box cryptography and multi-factor authentication.

ToneTag is also in talks with other Toll Plazas for digitizing payments mechanisms.

About ToneTag

ToneTag is a sound based proximity communication provider that enables contactless proximity communication, location based services and customer engagement services among a multitude of other solutions. Backed by Reliance VC among a host of investors, ToneTag has enabled contactless, offline, proximity communication on any device through sound and their team continues to innovate and transform the way devices will communicate with each other in the near future. For more information, please visit ToneTag

Jigsaw Academy, India’s top online school for analytics, and Analytics Vidhya, India’s largest analytics and data science community have launched the Analytics India Industry Report 2017 – Salaries & Trends. While automation is spelling doom for IT services professionals in India [and worldwide], this report comes as a life saver to many. With the recent flurry of layoffs by major IT players, the report suggests that adding analytics skills to their kitty will not only save careers for IT professionals, but also help them get a bump in their pay.

The Indian IT industry has for the better part been services focused. While that worked a decade ago, it is no longer the need of the industry. Weighing in on this, Gaurav Vohra, CEO & Co-founder of Jigsaw Academy said

We have long talked about moving up the value chain in terms of the services we offer to the world. We now have a chance to become the intelligence hub for the world. The IT industry can transform itself into IT 2.0 by riding on the big data wave. But they need to move fast if they have to stay relevant.

The report also has extremely interesting insights on the kind of salaries currently being offered to professionals with analytics skills. The bet on Machine Learning is finally paying off and it is the best paying analytics skill in the market currently, with an average pay of Rs. 10.43 LPA, even beating Big Data to the top spot, which comes in close with an average pay of Rs. 9.93 LPA. However, what companies seem to cherish are professionals with both these skill sets, a combination which fetches a cool Rs. 13.94 LPA on an average.

A huge change, as per the report, is the industry wide adoption and use of open source tools. In fact, for the first time this year, top tools that can help professionals get into analytics are R and Python, both of which are wildly popular open source tools. This points to the fact that popularity of expensive analytics computing software is on a steady decline. The salaries based on tools too seems to reflect this.

R and Python skills alone pay better than SAS, with average pay of Rs. 10.40 LPA and Rs. 10.12 LPA respectively. But here too, it is the combination of multiple skill-sets seems to pay the best. The best paid professionals are the ones with SAS + R + Python proficiency, with an average pay of Rs. 12.91 LPA. The report also includes more salary insights based on city, company size, experience, and domain.

Speaking about the report, Kunal Jain, Founder & CEO of Analytics Vidhya said

Open source tools combined with machine learning techniques have become the focus of the industry. It is evident from the report that companies prefer people who embrace the open source ecosystem and have high agility to learn new tools and techniques-a trend we see across our competitions and job portal. Companies are looking out for well-rounded professionals who can apply Machine Learning & Big Data to solve real business problems.

The report states that Machine Learning algorithms are dominating the business projects landscape with regression as the lone crusader fighting the battle for traditional statistical techniques. In fact, the top algorithms that organizations want people to pick up are Machine Learning ones.

This is not to say Big Data has lost any steam. Big Data Analytics roles have evolved and the last 18 months has seen some level of consolidation in terms of techniques and tool knowledge needed. As per the report, Hadoop skills, in combination with Spark and Tableau, and along with knowledge of popular databases like Mongo and Cassandra, makes for that rare big data unicorn. The analytics industry has always favoured people with knowledge of multiple tools and that still stands true. The industry is on the lookout for specialists in different areas of analytics who can work on a project end-to-end. Going by the report, this is the age of the analytics specialist.

Sarita Digumarti, COO & co-founder of Jigsaw Academy said

Easy access to Big Data and massive processing power has made Machine Learning techniques more popular than ever amongst data scientists. Businesses now have learnt to harness the immense power of machine learning and are ready to put faith in abstract machine learning models that they probably don’t even understand.

Analytics, Big Data, and Machine Learning skills are making people stand out and get hired at handsome pay packages. It is time to pivot towards these for a future proof career.

The annual report by Jigsaw Academy and Analytics Vidhya is compiled to cater to the needs of aspirants, analytics professionals, and employers. Based on information collected from 65,000+ analytics professionals with advanced analytics/data science skills, the report explains in detail the industry and salary trends for the upcoming year.

There is a very famous quote – Education and Skills should go hand in hand. This saying applies to all of us since the primary focus during the course of obtaining a degree is to obtain good marks and stay ahead of the crowd. It would be fair to say that the syllabus and courses in the engineering field are mostly designed to deliver information rather than imparting skills. Hence, it becomes very crucial to bridge the ever-widening Skills Gap.

Needless to mention that with the advent of the internet and rapid development in the technological field, it is very important to keep pace with the latest trend. During my engineering days which was way back in 2002, most of us wanted to join MNC’s and had plans to become a manager in order to lead a convenient life. There was a trend to work in the industry for a couple of years, grow up the corporate ladder and settle down as a Manager but times are different now and growing focus in on Doing things as well as getting things done!

As per a National Employability Report by Aspiring Minds, there is a significant skill gap due to which many of the engineering graduates are ‘unemployable’ and need to be trained in order to them employable [Source]. This is an alarming scenario and this is where MOOC, online courses, and courses with hands-on training by reputed institutes can be of great help. Though Data Science, IOT, NLP, etc. are in huge demand, skills like CCNA, Networking are still in huge demand. CCNA certification is still in huge demand and the most sought out even in 2017.

Whether you are an engineer fresh out of college or an experienced professional, it is worthwhile to invest your valuable time on CCNA training and opt for some good CCNA courses. The main USP of getting a CCNA certification is that you can expect a pay hike of around 20~30% after getting certified. If you love networking, dealing with complexities of TCP/UDP, and all things related to networks than Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is the course that you should opt for. The CCNA course lays the foundation of your networking skills and establishes you an expert in that field certifying your capability to upkeep complex enterprise level networks.

One dominant player in the field of providing training for CCNA and other networking related courses is Koenig Solutions. The most interesting part of their training is the ‘transparency’ with which prospective candidates opting for any course on their platform can look at the trainer’s profile and lookup for their expertise!

The various categories of CCNA certifications are below:

  • Cisco Routing & Switching
  • Cisco Security
  • Cisco Collaboration
  • Cisco Service Provider
  • Cisco Data Center
  • Cisco Wireless

As mentioned earlier, technological advancements are inching ahead at a rapid pace and everything & everyone is connected. With Internet Of Things(IoT), push towards being Digital citizens, etc. Security plays a crucial role to ensure that enterprise as well as customer data is safe and there is no data breach. Cisco CCNA Security Certification is one such credential that showcases your skills and expertise in that domain. CCNA Security is a must-skill when it comes to making a career in the Network Security Domain.

Koenig’s CCNA Security Training focuses on imparting skills for configuring a LAN switch & IP router, connect to WAN, and find potential security threats. It has an in-depth training module on troubleshooting in enterprise networks since enterprise networks can be susceptible to many security related threats and customer’s data might be at stake. After the course completion, candidates would acquire the necessary skills to configure, manage and troubleshoot a medium-sized enterprise network and ensuring that security of the network is never compromised.

The CCNA Security Certification course would include the following modules:

  • Learn to work on a medium-sized enterprise LAN with multiple switches
  • Manage support for VLANs, spanning tree and trunking.
  • Understand WAN technologies and configure OSPF and EIGRP in IPv6/IPv4
  • Work with network functions for access points, firewalls, and wireless controllers
  • Understanding the fundamentals of QoS, cloud services, and network programmability.
  • Troubleshoot enterprise network deployments and manage services for smooth operations of a network.

Candidates interested in CCNA Security have options to customize their learning packages like Learning modes [classroom training/fly me a trainer], Training type [group/individual], Training location, etc.

With the world becoming more connected, data breach can be a deal-breaker for any enterprise. So go ahead and take the first baby-steps in the field of networking by opting for a CCNA certification…
