Legal education in the India generally refers to the education of lawyers before entry into practice. It is offered at different levels by the traditional universities and the specialised law universities and schools only after completion of an undergraduate degree or as an integrated degree [Source – Wikipedia].

During a discussion with one of my friends in my apartment, he informed that his son aims to be “Criminal Lawyer” but he does not much idea about it i.e. be it about the pre-requisites, entrance exam, colleges & it’s future. Hence, we came out with this article since like my friend’s son, there would be many “wannabe Lawyers” who might not have the detailed information.

As far as the Law degrees go, here is the complete list [Source – Wikipedia]

Law_Logo

In India, a student can pursue a legal course only after completing an undergraduate course in any discipline. However, following the national law school model, one can study law as an integrated course of five years after passing the senior secondary examination.

  • Bachelor of Laws [LL.B] – The LL.B. is the most common law degree offered and conferred by Indian universities which has a duration of three years. Almost all law universities follow a standard LL.B. curriculum, wherein students are exposed to the required bar subjects.
  • Integrated undergraduate degrees – B.A. LL.B., B.Sc. LL.B., BBA. LLB., B.Com. LL.B. These degrees are mostly offered in the autonomous law schools having a duration of five years.
  • Master of Laws [LL.M] – The LL.M. is most common postgraduate law degree which has a duration of one/two years.
  • Master of Business Law
  • Doctor of Philosophy [PhD]
  • Integrated MBL-LLM/ MBA-LLM. – Generally a three years double degree integrated course with specialization in business law.

Now that you know about the Law courses in India, here comes the tougher choice; selection of the right law college that would match your requirements. Either you hunt around online-forums for information or talk to people in that field for more information, but in both the scenarios; the information could either be in-correct [read Paid Review] or it could be biased [based on that person’s experience]. So, what does a student do to solve this problem ??? Well, they can head over to CollegeDunia which is a sort of “Yellow-Pages” for Colleges. They have trusted & curated information on colleges across India.

When I referred this website to my friend, his son was delighted to get list of Best law colleges in India. For LLB aspirants, they have a trusted database of Top LLB Colleges in India So, all the aspiring Jethmalani’s out there, we hope that these tips would get you an admission in the college of your choice & here’s wishing you a great career ahead !!!

Cheap medical education in countries like China, Russia, Ukraine, Philippines and Nepal is attracting many aspiring doctors from India who cannot afford the exorbitant cost of private medical education in India and are unable to make it to the limited seats in government medical colleges. We spoke to couple of students who aspire to become dentists or doctors but their major concern was the lack of information available around that subject.

Many of the students were not even aware of the pre-requisites of entering into MBBS or B.Des college. In order to join MBBS, there are two medical entrances which are well-known others are also there, but these two are the main exams.

AIPMT- All India Pre Medical Test

The eligibility of the same is below:

  1. The age of the candidate should be between 17-25 years.
  2. The Educational Qualification needed is that one should have passed 12th or equivalent qualification with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-Technology.
  3. The candidate should have scored at least 50% marks in PCB and English, taken together.

AIIMS – All India Institute of Medical Sciences

The eligibility of the same is below:

  1. The age of the candidates should be minimum 17 years.
  2. The educational qualification of the applicants must be that he/she should have passed 12th or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English.
  3. He/She should have scored a minimum 60% marks in PCB and English all together.

For any other information regarding MBBS, please check the following link. You can also have a look at the Top 9 entrance exams for aspiring doctors.

However, once the student has cleared the entrance exam, depending on his/her liking for the subject, they either choose MBBS for becoming general practitioner or choose B.Des in case they are interested in becoming dentists. when it comes to choosing the right college or university, students should only go to trusted sources & ensure that they check the genuine reviews of the colleges where they are interested to join. If students are looking for genuine reviews on colleges & are stuck on the question “Which college should I join?”, they can turn to their reliable partner – CollegeDunia. If you are an MBBS aspirant, you can have a look at the exhaustive list of MBBS Colleges in India For students aspiring to become dentists, you can have a look at Top B.Des colleges in India

We are aware that opportunity once missed, rarely comes back. Choosing the right college for your degree esentially becomes the very first step to choosing the right career path. All students out there, choose wisely & take your career to the right track with CollegeDunia !!!

In an effort to promote a culture of entrepreneurship among the student community, PayPal has opened the doors of its Start Tank incubator for students aspiring to start their own enterprise. The incubation center in Chennai, which hosts & grooms tech startup companies, now encourages student entrepreneurs from across top universities to pitch their tech ideas and turn them into reality.

For the first time since its inception in 2013, PayPal’s Start Tank rolled out its Incubation Challenge at the recently held “Entrepreneurship Conclave & Startup Hive” at IIT-Madras and selected two teams from the competition. They will now have a direct entry into the finals of the Incubation Challenge to be conducted later this year, and upon selection, get incubated at Start Tank.

The winning idea of “delivering logistics via drones” was pitched by a team of MTech students from IIT-M & the runner-up idea “pushing dynamic ads into mobile games in place of the obtrusive banner ads” came from a team of dual degree students, also from IIT-M. Several promising concepts such as crowd-funding to support the underprivileged, 3D printing & distribution, “green garbage” waste management, among many others, were also presented by students from several leading universities in the country.

Speaking about the association, Anupam PahujaGeneral Manager, Technology – Asia-Pacific, PayPal

Extending the Start Tank Incubation Challenge to student entrepreneurs comes with the commitment of supporting their innovative startup ideas and tech concepts. It is encouraging to see many students in India daring to dream to give wings to their ideas and set up business ventures. Through Start Tank, we aim to help them with the right kind of mentorship and guidance to enter the market right after graduation.

PayPal launched ‘Start Tank Incubation Challenge’ last year to identify and incubate the country’s next generation tech-centric startups. After IIT-Madras, PayPal has now partnered with SASTRA University, to organize the incubation challenge as part of their techno-management fest to be held in Thanjavur in February 2015.

Interested applicants, student/non-student entrepreneurs, can register for Start Tank Incubation Challenge with their tech-centric ideas at http://chennai.starttank.com/apply
