As per one of the recent aviation report, the aviation sector contributes INR 330 billion [0.5%] to Indian GDP.

This total comprises:

  • INR 147 billion directly contributed through the output of the aviation sector [airlines, airports and ground services, aerospace]
  • INR 107 billion indirectly contributed through the aviation sector’s supply chain
  • INR 77 billion contributed through the spending by the employees of the aviation sector and its supply chain.
  • In addition there are INR 582 billion in ‘catalytic’ benefits through tourism, which raises the overall contribution to INR 912 billion or 1.5% of GDP.

Legal education in the India generally refers to the education of lawyers before entry into practice. It is offered at different levels by the traditional universities and the specialised law universities and schools only after completion of an undergraduate degree or as an integrated degree [Source – Wikipedia].

In India, a student can pursue a legal course only after completing an undergraduate course in any discipline. However, following the national law school model, one can study law as an integrated course of five years after passing the senior secondary examination.

  • Bachelor of Laws [LL.B] – The LL.B. is the most common law degree offered and conferred by Indian universities which has a duration of three years. Almost all law universities follow a standard LL.B. curriculum, wherein students are exposed to the required bar subjects.
  • Integrated undergraduate degrees – B.A. LL.B., B.Sc. LL.B., BBA. LLB., B.Com. LL.B. These degrees are mostly offered in the autonomous law schools having a duration of five years.
  • Master of Laws [LL.M] – The LL.M. is most common postgraduate law degree which has a duration of one/two years.

Cheap medical education in countries like China, Russia, Ukraine, Philippines and Nepal is attracting many aspiring doctors from India who cannot afford the exorbitant cost of private medical education in India and are unable to make it to the limited seats in government medical colleges. We spoke to couple of students who aspire to become dentists or doctors but their major concern was the lack of information available around that subject.

Many of the students were not even aware of the pre-requisites of entering into MBBS or B.Des college. In order to join MBBS, there are two medical entrances which are well-known others are also there, but these two are the main exams.

AIPMT- All India Pre Medical Test

The eligibility of the same is below:

  1. The age of the candidate should be between 17-25 years.
  2. The Educational Qualification needed is that one should have passed 12th or equivalent qualification with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-Technology.
  3. The candidate should have scored at least 50% marks in PCB and English, taken together.

AIIMS – All India Institute of Medical Sciences

The eligibility of the same is below:

  1. The age of the candidates should be minimum 17 years.
  2. The educational qualification of the applicants must be that he/she should have passed 12th or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English.
  3. He/She should have scored a minimum 60% marks in PCB and English all together.

Few weeks back, we had reviewed startup in Vertical Search space – CollegeDunia that wants to make College search very easy !!!

There is news that CollegeDunia has received $162,787 [1 Crore] of angel investment from MIH-acquired automobile site Gaadi.com’s CEO Umang Kumar, along with a bunch of undisclosed investors.

The funds would be utilized for Marketing, Technology enhancement & Operations.

The company is planning to add data on 7,000 to 8,000 colleges in six months. In the long run, the site will also look at listing coaching institutes, polytechnic institutes and entrance exams details.
