With the growth of online-commerce in India, there are many businesses that have been built to cater to that explosive growth. With growing demand, there have been more startups emerging in the space of Customer Support, Last Mile Delivery/Logistics, Automation [e.g. Grey Orange Robotics]. This article in Economic Times points out that e-commerce firms are the new drivers for the BPO industry & with more startups emerging in that space, this number would surely see an upward-trend !!!

The following presentation from Accel Partners gives the complete outlook on “online commerce in India”

With the growth of e-commerce & “hefty” discounts being the major driver for sales, what if the consumer gets some more discount than what the e-commerce website is already offering. Yes, We are talking about “Coupon Websites” !!! Coupon/Deal websites are “by-products” of online-commerce.

In the past, we have reviewed multiple “Coupon Websites” but very few provide “Human Touch” to the overall “online shopping experience”. PriceBurp, an online coupon & deals website offers consumers with great deals across different categories [e.g. clothing, stationery etc.] on e-commerce sites like Flipkart, Amazon etc. & site that we recommend for another reason as well.

It has tied up with Akshay Patra Foundation & every time consumer shops with PriceBurp, the startup would contribute to “Akshaya Patra” [Read more about it here]. Definitely bring social angle to the overall shopping experience J

If you are looking for some great deals for your valentine, do give PriceBurp a shot !!!

With the increase of online frauds in India, it becomes necessary that “Shopper becomes Smart” & along with discounts also checks the authenticity of the e-commerce website. Some of the smart shopping tips are:

  1. Shop from “known” websites e.g. Flipkart, Jabong, Shopclues, High5Store etc.
  2. Ensure that “Digital Payment” happens over secure [SSL] channel
  3. Ensure “not to save” the Credit Card is not saved. Since, no matter how renowned, the website is; better to keep CC information to yourself !!!
  4. Compare prices of “existing products” on price-comparison engines
  5. Get additional discounts on products by grabbing coupons from coupon/deal websites
  6. Untrusted app stores will continue to be a major source of mobile malware. Traffic to these stores will be driven by “malvertising,” which has grown quickly on mobile platforms [Source – McAfee]

We hope that these tips help  not only make your online shopping more “secure”, “delightful” but also brings-in good “karma” 🙂

In fact, “Brick & Mortar” stores are also embracing Digital Couponing” [A market that can be explored by Couponing websites]

Mobile data useage has shown tremendous growth due to which more & more consumers are now using it for various things like online purchase, banking, hotel & flight booking etc. With data becoming more & more cheaper, this number is sure to explode with many companies [namely e-comm, travel etc.] giving preference to smaller screen !!!

Cleartrip has come up with their report titled Cleartrip’s Quarterly Accommodation Insight” which has interesting insights into changing consumer behaviour & preferences, some of the staggering facts below:

Note We in the article refers to Cleartrip

  • As per Amit Taneja [Chief Revenue Officer, Cleartrip] : 2014 was a great year for travel – customers were presented with a more customised range of products & offers to plan holidays. And the response was phenomenal, as visible in a 165% growth [YoY, Q3’14 v/s Q3’13] in traffic & 100% growth in transaction volumes.
  • The growth was uniform across destinations & all categories of hotels, though there was a visible trend towards more short, weekend breaks.
  • This festive quarter [Q3′ 14] also had two long-weekends : Gandhi Jayanti & Christmas and both these saw a 500% growth in check-ins, compared to a normal day. Goa, Mysore & Jaipur led the pack in bookings for these weekends.
  • To solve the weekend getaway travellers’ decision-making problem, Cleartrip also launched “Weekend Getaways” on Cleartrip’s iOS & Android apps to help customers plan their breaks, on the go.

Cleartrip's Quarterly Accommodation Insight (Q3'14)

Insights from “Weekend Getaways on Cleartrip’s mobile App”

  • Although Mumbai has a much higher proportion of destinations in the vicinity of the city, destinations around Delhi & Bangalore contributed to more than double the transactions, as compared to destinations around Mumbai.
  • Mobile [bookings], while initially were biased towards Last Minute, are now being used even for Advance Bookings – almost a third of Cleartrip’s Hotel bookings on Mobile are 15-days out.
  • Higher preference to book 4*/5* hotels on Mobile as compared to its Desktop counterpart.
  • As economic activity picks up in the coming quarter, along with the better-than-ever consumer sentiment, growth in the Accommodations segment is likely to sustain for the next many quarters & the channel shift of consumers from booking accommodation, from traditional offline channels to online and mobile channels, will accelerate further in the coming quarters.

Information technology has brought with it a revolution in the job sector. Though the recent stint with recession had hit this industry badly, but it is reviving fast. With the government announcing friendly schemes for entrepreneurs, along with entrepreneurship, there would be a rise in number of potential job seekers as well.

Legal education in the India generally refers to the education of lawyers before entry into practice. It is offered at different levels by the traditional universities and the specialised law universities and schools only after completion of an undergraduate degree or as an integrated degree [Source – Wikipedia].

During a discussion with one of my friends in my apartment, he informed that his son aims to be “Criminal Lawyer” but he does not much idea about it i.e. be it about the pre-requisites, entrance exam, colleges & it’s future. Hence, we came out with this article since like my friend’s son, there would be many “wannabe Lawyers” who might not have the detailed information.

As far as the Law degrees go, here is the complete list [Source – Wikipedia]

Law_Logo

In India, a student can pursue a legal course only after completing an undergraduate course in any discipline. However, following the national law school model, one can study law as an integrated course of five years after passing the senior secondary examination.

  • Bachelor of Laws [LL.B] – The LL.B. is the most common law degree offered and conferred by Indian universities which has a duration of three years. Almost all law universities follow a standard LL.B. curriculum, wherein students are exposed to the required bar subjects.
  • Integrated undergraduate degrees – B.A. LL.B., B.Sc. LL.B., BBA. LLB., B.Com. LL.B. These degrees are mostly offered in the autonomous law schools having a duration of five years.
  • Master of Laws [LL.M] – The LL.M. is most common postgraduate law degree which has a duration of one/two years.
  • Master of Business Law
  • Doctor of Philosophy [PhD]
  • Integrated MBL-LLM/ MBA-LLM. – Generally a three years double degree integrated course with specialization in business law.

Now that you know about the Law courses in India, here comes the tougher choice; selection of the right law college that would match your requirements. Either you hunt around online-forums for information or talk to people in that field for more information, but in both the scenarios; the information could either be in-correct [read Paid Review] or it could be biased [based on that person’s experience]. So, what does a student do to solve this problem ??? Well, they can head over to CollegeDunia which is a sort of “Yellow-Pages” for Colleges. They have trusted & curated information on colleges across India.

When I referred this website to my friend, his son was delighted to get list of Best law colleges in India. For LLB aspirants, they have a trusted database of Top LLB Colleges in India So, all the aspiring Jethmalani’s out there, we hope that these tips would get you an admission in the college of your choice & here’s wishing you a great career ahead !!!
