Launched on April 8, the podcast network attracted over 100,000 listeners in its first month with its initial line-up of unique, genre-defining audio shows.

Audiomatic is the only place where a stand-up comedian and writer, a food writer, an actor and a journalist, all unite with one objective – to revive the old art of telling stories using new digital platforms and technology to reach a million ears.

Drawing on radio’s ability to be the theatre of the mind, Audiomatic’s portfolio has something for every listener. Ask Aakar Anything, features senior journalist and columnist Aakar Patel, who answers questions on just about everything from Apple to Air India, India’s corruption to PM Modi’s vision & Chetan Bhagat on TV to Twinkle Khanna in the newspapers.

Audiomatic podcast Our Last Week features the two funny men Anuvab Pal & Kunaal Roy Kapur and their candid conversations. They catch up on their personal and worldly encounters in the last week and ensure an audio experience as striking as their trademark logical reasoning.

Food writer Vikram Doctor with his life-size appetite for stories presents The Real Food Podcast, a fortnightly feast for the food-lovers.

Duo of Padmaparna Ghosh & Samanth Subramanian duo narrates stories that meld science, culture and history in India, in their signature ‘all pun intended’ ways on The Intersection every fortnight.

The podcasts, timed well within a modern day listener’s attention span, are uploaded weekly or fortnightly on Audiomatic, Apple iTunes as well as Android apps such as Stitcher, Podcast Addict etc.

Whether it is food [The Real Food Podcast], current affairs [Ask Aakar Anything] or Science [The Intersection], Audiomatic’s edge lies in its ability to tell compelling stories and be every listener’s ‘go-to’ destination for engaging, authentic & outstanding content.

Few months back during the process of reading the book “How Innovators Connect by Rohit Agarwal”, I came out with an article Failures , road to success , which showcased two Entrepreneurs – Gururaj Desh Deshpande of Sycamore and Umang Gupta of Keynote Systems.

Just came across an interesting(and motivating) podcast of Umang Gupta, where he speaks about his entrepreneurial journey(from Oracle, where he was the 17th employee to founding Gupta Technologies). He also touches upon some of the key aspects of his work-life balance, when things were not going his way as an Entrepreneur. Lots of learnings for any aspiring Entrepreneur !!!

On a lighter note, wonder if some Indian entrepreneur has also cooked the recipe of his own startup wink

Interesting thoughts by Yogen Dalal, who is the managing director at Mayfield Fund, in Silicon Valley. It is a very motivating podcast where Yogen goes on to refer “A Panwala as an Entrepreneur” and later on “Every Indian as an Entrepreneur“.He also shares his thoughts on some of the Key differences between Silicon Valley and India.

Must for every aspiring Entrepreneur biggrin This podcast made my day !!!

Interview Curtosy : Kamla Bhatt of PodTech

Neil Patel of ACS – A social media marketing company shared some of his helpful tips that has helped TechCrunch double it’s Technorati traffic(no of incoming links). He also touches upon some of his other blog clients – Guy Kawasaki and ProBlogger.

Some important excerpts(basic tips for bloggers) from the interview are:

  1. Your blog should be well SEO’ed
  2. There should be a proper title to any article on the blog since, this is what helps you in better listing on search engines

He has also touched upon the “Corporates V/S Bloggers” scene. As per the interview, his preference goes to Bloggers(as clients) , since he feels Bloggers are very easy to work with biggrin. They are very flexible. Companies are harder to deal with. When it comes to corporates, things move very slow since you have to follow the corporate guidelines.

Reporting live from PodWorks and tried my hands on blogging at around 3:30 PM and yes,I am tired after a small presentation on “Blogging tips for Blogging and Podcasting“.My team involved Vibhash and Sridhar and since,I don’t blog for money,I focussed on business side of blogging and guess the presentation turned out to be decent one biggrin

The presentation was made in around 20 minutes and the experience to speak in front of 150 people was quite amazing wink Enough of my bla..bla…the current presentation is by the Nautanki.tv CEO who speaks on “How to make money through blogging and podcasting

AdBright,Google Ads are some of the things that he tried to stress upon.A pretty decent talk but rest of the sessions was on some of the basic fundas of Podcasting!!!

More will update later and would head to the Beach Party biggrin

More coverage:
iLan covers Podworks Day-1 here and Day-2 here

Photos of the event can be found here

From Blogging to Wiki’s to Startups , a new season of unconference on “Podcasting” named Podworks would start from 9th June,2007 onwards(and the blast would last for 2 days). This makes me remind of my first unconference-BlogCamp in Chennai where, I was silent and was waiting to connect with like-minded people but now,for the very first time,I would be going with a big gang of like-minded people biggrin

Last BarCamp,Bangalore was a very great experience for me and I would be joining these Bar-campers for Podworks.
Sridhar has already thought about the agenda for the discussion in the train and I am damn sure there would be lots of other discussions in the train mrgreen

The other gang members are Vibhash,Anil , Yousuf and a first timer to the unconference circuit Alok….Alok, welcome to the unconference gang lol

Let’s pack our bags and rock the way to Podworks…and yes, since Ashwin cancelled his trip,I would try to take his position to get my hands-on to live blogging wink For guys like Vishal , Mahesh and Ashwin who have missed the train to Podworks…do not worry…we guys would be there to share the experiences in Podworks , so till than……

Happy Pod(working) !!!

Blogging is becoming popular day by day and same is the case with bloggers.Though,Blogging cannot replace mass media, bloggers have gained media attention and respect as well. This made me curious to know the total no of blogs that exist, till date(without taking into account, the no of updates that happen in the blog) and google search for “No of Blogs in the world” indicates that there are over 60 million blogs existing, till date.

India,as you might have guessed,is not far and this is what Blog Herald reports about India:

India/ Pakistan: approx 1 million blogs no firm figures however.I’ve noticed a significant rise out of India recently, and certainly the Indian press is also reporting on the emergence of Indian blogs, which is a sure sign that there must be a reasonable number there.
Sub Total: 24.35 million

This is certainly good news for Indian Bloggers.I actively picked up blogging after BlogCamp,Chennai but some pick up blogging by reading other’s blogs or reading books or some other means. However, once you spend quality time reading blogs and writing them, you want to dig more into it and this is where the new magazine “Blogger and Podcaster” would help for the blogger community.A magazine dedicated to Blogging and Podcasting…Whew, that’s pretty exciting…

Register for the online version of the magazine for free and you get to read interview of Scoble and other geek bloggers neutral

I hope that this magazine would help in improving the podcasting scene in India, which looks very bleak right now neutral.Do not forget to subscribe to the magazine by clicking here
