This is a problem with a lot of ambitious people who forget coexistence in trade of commerce
The real creators of wealth are those who use little of it and let otehrs benefit more.

“To become a national icon, to be worthy of emulation, needs more than mere wealth creation, at least in the Indian context. In fact it is the other way round. In the Indian tradition, not those who amassed but who gave up have become national icons. This is what in recent times a Mahatma Gandhi symbolised. The nation does not remember a Mahatma Gandhi as a lawyer. It remembers him precisely because he gave up being one in the cause of the nation. A Jawaharlal Nehru too is not remembered as a lawyer. Nor is a Rajaji. Or is a Subhash Bose remembered as an ICS officer. If they are remembered it is for giving up their career in the cause of the nation. Not just in politics. Many great businessmen have lived for the country, not just for their little business like Jamnalal Bajaj and Jugalkishore Birla. For them this nation was core of their life. But even the torrent of encomiums that the media showered on Ambani did not claim that, besides doing business, he lived for a cause, for the country. The only cause that he espoused was the cause of money. Not a bad cause in itself, but not a good enough cause for becoming a national icon.
The attempted elevation of Ambani into a national icon shows the beginnings of a disease _ the transition from giving up for a cause as the national trait to causeless acquisition as the national model. Worshipping money-making by any means can one day produce dozens of Madonnas in India, if Ambanis turn national icons.
The question before India: Are we drifting from Gandhi as the national model to Ambani as the new model? A paradigm shift?”

Today DNA India reports that as per government communique, the plot of land that Ambani is building his new home on, was obtained illegally.
Maharashtra government on Tuesday termed as “illegal” a land deal by Reliance Industries chief Mukesh Ambani’s group firm for a posh mansion now under construction in the plush Malabar Hill area of South Mumbai. A notification issued by Revenue and Forest Department has directed the state Wakf Board to ‘take back possession’ of five wakf board properties, including the 4,532 sq metre land where Ambani is building the 27-floor skyscraper. Right from the time, news about the new house became public, I was apalled at the hypocrisy of such an act. However coming from Reliance, I am not surprised. Reliance Industries may be one of the biggest industrial houses, but by no means is it the most ethical or moral. And the reason for that starts at the top. For years Dhirubhai Ambani, never paid income tax. This was in the early days of Reliance. Through a system of loopholes in the law, he perfected the art of being rich and not paying tax. This same ethical code is seen in the daily workings of the company, be it bribing Pramod Mahajan to get telecom and cellphone contracts or steamrolling the building of petrochemical plants, with nary a care of the environment.
One of the most hard hitting books on Dhirubhai Ambani, called The Polyester Prince: The Rise of Dhirubhai Ambani, was written by Hamish McDonald. The book is out of circulation and it is impossible to find this book for purchase. The publishers in Australia, refuse to print more of these because Mukesh and Anil have made sure through the threat of legal action, that the true stories in the book do not become public knowledge. They also managed to get the book banned in India. What one wonders is in the book that has made it disappear from bookshops around the world.
And now this same family, goes about building an absurd tower in the sky. A 27 storey building, which in regular height would equal a 50 storey building is coming up on Altamount Road.
It is a proper study in Indian class dynamics. First six floors for car parking. Then floors for the servants, and then the family.
And of course their money and clout has made sure that no one questions Mukesh Ambani and the tower gets built.
It does not matter how rich one gets. Morals and ethics cannot be got by money and Mukesh Ambani has just once again proven that.
Maybe he should take a page out of the Tatas or look at the life of Warren Buffet, an even richer and wealthier person than him and the life he leads.

My points were at a broader level of ethics, morality and desirable values and hence possibly may have been misinterpreted
I am not at all against what you say- however I feel a lot of work needs to be done within us than outside

There are several icons in the nation at the moment, and the Ambani’s are one among them for their shrewd business tactics. While there may be many manipulations of loop-holes here and there as a result of circumstances, but regardless one has to have the values intact at all times. There are few icons who are well regarded irrespective of their fame is because of this reason, the simple reason that they followed the truth of their existence. There are several Ambani’s floating around, any individual who is capable of aggrandizing the wealth of the country should be provided a chance to showcase their potential. These kind of news certainly nourishes and promotes the youngster’s mindset to look forward towards the country as a land of opportunity.

Agreed that Reliance is a threat to India and specially to Mumbai since,after few years who knows Mumbai may become RELIANCE MUMBAI.But we should not take away the credits from them since they are the guys who added one more requirement in every Indian’s list : Roti, Kapda, Makan aur CELL PHONE 🙂
